A Crystal Clear Reflection
This Photo Art of the Week belongs to Darcy Monchak. You’re looking at a 16”x24” Classic White Metal Print.
Darcy is a Canadian nature photographer who focuses his lens on the breathtaking landscapes and wildlife of the Canadian Rockies and surrounding areas. Called “Skygate Assiniboine,” Darcy tells us this photo was captured in Mt. Assiniboine Provincial Park, British Columbia. “The image was taken in the early fall as the subalpine larch trees were at their golden zenith. I had waited the previous two days for the weather to clear, and finally on my last day in the area, it all came together for the image. This metal print from Posterjack is going to a client’s home on the BC coast.” To see more of Darcy’s incredible photos, you can visit his website or find him on Facebook and Instagram.
About Mount Assiniboine
Have you ever seen Mount Assiniboine? A pyramidal peak mountain located along the BC/Alberta border, Wikipedia says, “At 3,618 m (11,870 ft), it is the highest peak in the Southern Continental Ranges of the Canadian Rockies. Mt. Assiniboine rises nearly 1,525 m (5,003 ft) above Lake Magog. Because of its resemblance to the Matterhorn in the Alps, it is nicknamed the ‘Matterhorn of the Rockies’.”
Printing Photos on Metal
Posterjack offers three different types of Metal Prints—HD Metal, Classic White, and Classic Silver—with each one having its own unique characteristics. Our HD Metal Print, for example, is a high-gloss print made using the dye-sublimation process to infuse the inks into the top coating of the metal sheet. With a Classic Silver Metal Print, on the other hand, your photo is printed directly onto the brushed aluminum so the raw metal will show through in the areas of a photo that contain white or low saturation, creating a totally unique and artistic print.
Featured here is the Classic White Metal Print; the photo is printed directly onto a white-coated aluminum panel. Of all three types of metal we print on, this is probably the best choice for most people. With its satin-matte finish, the print has a nice sheen but is low-glare, so you can display it in just about any situation, even rooms with bright overhead lighting.
