2. What Types of Image Formats and Sizes do you accept?
We process all common image formats. Normally your digital camera or your graphic design program will produce these formats. These include JPEG, TIFF, BMP, PNG, etc. We do not accept PDF files due to virus issues. If you would like a PDF file printed, please
Contact Us.
You can upload files up to 40 MB in size. Should your images be larger than 40 MB, please contact us for details on how to process this order.
3. What are some important tips about digital images?
99% of digital photos taken from a digital camera will be acceptable to create a great looking poster. For a poster in the 24" x 32" size, a file that is 2MB or bigger is a good rule of thumb, however many posters printed with a file that is 1MB or bigger turn out pretty nicely.
The resolution of your photo/image defines the maximum size with which your poster can be printed. In order to achieve an optimum result, your photo/image should be at a minimum 100 DPI (dots per inch). The larger the poster size you print, the higher your photo's/image's resolution should be. But don't worry: our automatic image quality check tool will show you if your image size is ok. We use a simple traffic light system (green for ideal, yellow for satisfactory, and red for unsuitable) which will tell you whether your image can be printed at a certain poster size. You can always change the poster size after the quality check has been performed. If you change the size, the quality check will be performed again.
Width-to-Height Ratio: The width-to-height ratio describes the proportion of the image or poster from width to height. The most common width-to-height ratio from a digital camera is 4:3. Some early models of digital cameras and film cameras have a ratio of 3:2. It is rare to have a camera produce a square image. Rest assured that posterjack can print these standard formats as well as many special formats such as panorama formats. For a listing of all the formats we offer, open the drop down list box on the home page and select the format of your choice.
4. How do I upload my photos/images and is the quality checked?
By clicking on the "Browse" button you can select your desired photo/image file from a data source on your computer (hard disk, CD-ROM, etc.). The next step is to select your desired poster size (format). Lastly, click on "Upload", which will place your the image into the shopping cart.
Preview Image
The preview image shows you your poster. If there were any adjustments to the photo/image to make it fit the desired poster size, you will see that here. If your photo/image did not exactly fit the dimensions you have chosen, you will see grey frames on the sides on the image. This shows you that your poster will not be printed as wide as you have chosen. Should you choose to proceed, the poster will be printed and we will remove the borders so that only your image is on the poster.
Poster Size Suitability
The image quality tool automatically checks the quality of the uploaded image against your desired poster size. This allows you to select the largest poster possible while still attaining your desired level of quality. Photos/images that are Ideal, Very Good, or Good will result in a poster that you will be very happy with. Satisfactory photos/images will not print as sharply and will show some granulation. If you are ok with some granulation and your picture will typically be viewed from a distance (across a room for example), you will usually still be happy with the poster. Photos/images that are declared Unsuitable will likely appear very grainy, even when viewed from a distance and are not recommended. You should decrease the size of the poster you wish to have printed. In the shopping cart the quality check tool will display a result for every image you have uploaded.
Advice on Resolution and Image Quality
The resolution and clarity of the printed poster is completely affected by the image file's amount of pixels. Simply put: The more pixels, the higher the quality of the printed posters.
Please bear in mind: Posterjack uses our proprietary printing software to enhance the image. When processing large-sized posters our proprietary printing software - unlike the mere printing of photos - extrapolates the amount of pixels to the desired printing size. Through this process and because your large poster will usually be viewed from a distance, we can produce an excellent poster print, even when your image does not have a high pixel count. \n
Important! The quality check only reviews the file size. The quality check only reviews the file size. It can not assess if an image is out of focus, has a finger in it, or if it has other errors/mistakes in the file. Please carefully review your photos/images to ensure that the original photo/image is of suitable quality. We want you to be very happy with your poster when it arrives at your house, and that of course starts with you providing a high quality image.

5. What can I do in the shopping cart?
Layout
This tool allows you to decide if your image should be fitted to your desired poster size by scaling or by cropping the picture to the exact measurements of the poster. It is typical that the photo/image size of the uploaded file does not correspond with the desired poster size. No Problem! Our tool will help you to get your poster in the exact size that you selected.
You have 2 Options
1) Fit to Photo: Your photo/image will be scaled up or down until it fits the poster size. This means that your photo/image will be printed completely, but the final size of the poster will not exactly match the size you ordered. You should choose the Fit to Photo option if you want to have your image printed completely and if you are flexible regarding poster size. The final poster will usually not be dramatically different; however it may be an inch or two smaller than the exact poster size you have selected.
2) Fit to Poster: With this option you get the exact poster size you ordered. One dimension (length or width) will be cropped to match the size, while in most cases the other dimension will be expanded accordingly. You should choose Fit to Poster if you already have a frame and the poster size must be exact to fit the frame. Please bear in mind that parts of your original photo/image will be missing on 2 sides of one dimension. The image preview will show you how much of the image will be cut so you can decide whether this option is acceptable to you.
Delete image
If you decide that you do not want to order a poster of an image that is already uploaded to the shopping cart, you can delete it at any time.
Copy image
Every image that has been uploaded once can be ordered in one or several other sizes. It is not necessary to upload the image multiple times. Simply copy the image and change the image size.
Select amount
This allows you to select the number of posters you would like to order for any given size and image.
Advice:
Please upload all images and select amounts and sizes first. When you are done you can then proceed to complete your order by moving on to the address and payment page.

8. Can you tell me a little bit about Posterjack's products and quality?
Quality
Posterjack's proprietary printing process and software generates posters with a very high level of quality. We have multiple stages of quality control to ensure that the posters you receive are perfect in every way. Our goal is that you will like the quality of your poster so much that you will tell all your friends and family about it.
Paper
Printing is carried out with the latest printing techniques on special photographic paper. This photo paper has a smooth surface and weighs 210 grams per square metre. You can choose to have your photo printed in either glossy or matte.
Durability
The posters are not waterproof, but they are more water resistant when compared with a normal colour photo print. They are not suitable for outdoor use.
The resistance to light depends on their exposure to direct sunlight. The longevity is a lot higher than with prints of conventional printers for private use, however it is recommended that prints are not exposed to direct sunlight on a daily basis. This is the same guideline you should follow with all artwork that you hang on your walls.
Poster Trimming
Your poster will be produced in the exact size you order with the image edge-to-edge. You will not have to do any cutting or trimming yourself!

10. What do I do if I have a complaint?
Transport damage
Both Posterjack and our service partners take the greatest possible care with processing and delivery. However, should any delivered item be damaged, please
Contact Us immediately.
Differences in colour
Minor differences in colour between your poster and your original photo are possible. Our printers will print the most accurate colours of your image possible. This means your poster will most likely not exactly match the colours of the image you see on your computer screen. Computer screens generally display inaccurate colours because of the calibration settings which can include; brightness, resolution, contrast, and the settings of the graphics card.
The shades of grey for black and white posters are achieved by printing with only black and grey inks. Because of this we produce very neutral black and white prints.
Resolution
A large poster can appear 'grainy' on closer inspection if the original does not possess sufficient resolution. That means that a smaller poster size would improve the poster's quality. Poster quality always depends on the quality of the original photo.
